The act of “winterizing” is something you do to your wardrobe (hello, warm coats and boots), your kitchen (we love getting souped up in cold weather), even your home decor…that Douglas fir will soon grace your living room. But in the “flurry” (so to speak) of prewinter activity, it’s key to equip to your car to deal with harsh weather…so in the midst of snow squalls and freezing rain, you don’t have to ride a mythical creature to the grocery store.
Bring your car to Vesa’s and our certified techs will run a winterprep checklist, including: Snow tires. Deeper tread patterns provide the best grip on slippery roads. And because the early bird often catches the best deal, you can save $70 on a Bridgestone set through October 31!
Battery check. You may or may not notice when the battery is starting to wear out – and frigid weather cuts down on battery capacity. We’ll make sure you’re “good to go”!
Belt check. Belts are key to coldweather functions such as power steering–but harsh temperatures can weaken them. We will inspect for cuts, cracks, and breaks to make sure all systems flow smoothly, even when the weather’s rough.
Coolant levels. We’ll make sure you have the right amount of Antifreeze to keep your engine from freezing…even when you are! Windshield wiper blades. We examine the blades for splitting or peeling. We can also switch your wiper fluid to a winter version that’s designed to loosen ice and snow without freezing on your windshield.
Defroster. Given that cars are swiftly becoming the “family room” on wheels, you want a heating system that will keep your carpool warm and toasty. Brake fluid. No season is more deserving of the phrase, “Give me a brake!” We’ll make sure your breaks are in optimal shape for slick, icy roads. Peace of mind. We’ll assess your vehicle honestly so you can stay safe throughout the season. We also recommend packing a “winter supply” kit in your car for peace of mind with a firstaid kit, flashlight, warm clothes, extra gloves, radio, bag of sand, an icescraper and granola bars or trail mix.
Remember — if you see a strange light on your dashboard, want to check your battery, or even have the nagging feeling that something’s not right, bring your car here. Regardless of the weather, we have cars down cold.
